Electricity can be generated from many ways. Electricity can also be generated from heat energy. The phenomenon in which electrical energy is produced by means of thermal energy is called thermoelectric effect. Electricity generated from the heat energy is called thermoelectricity. This effect involves various effects described below:
- Seebeck effect
- Peltier effect
- Thomsan’s effect
Thermoelectric effect has wide range of applications. It is used to make thermopile, a device used for the detection and measurement of heat radiation. Thermoelectric generators are also truly based on thermoelectric effect.
